about us.

Hi there! Thanks for visiting. Here's a quick summary of who we are and what we do.

WHO ARE WE?

This initiative is run by Kripa Krithivasan: stand-up comedian and host of Uncultured the Podcast. That's me. It's weird typing in third person. Hello!

A headshot of Kripa, an Indian woman with brown skin and shoulder-length black hair. She has bangs and is wearing light makeup. Kripa is wearing a colourful T-shirt (blue, yellow, green, pink, coral, white and blue)

I also co-curate Red Dot Revolt, an annual event showcasing Sydney's hottest South Asian talent. When looking for artists to showcase at our 2022 event, it became increasingly difficult to sift through the 100s (or 1000s) of Instagram pages and pinpoint who we wanted to perform. If only there was a one-stop shop of all the South Asian talent in Australia.

So BCA was born!

There's so much creativity in Australia's little South Asia, yet we all work in silos and let the algorithm dictate who rises to the top and is discovered. Now, we can explore the world of South Asian Australian art ourselves. One place, 100s of artists.

I WANT TO HELP

I use 'we' but it's really just me (Kripa) here. Let's change that. Want to get involved to make waves in the South Asian Australian scene? DM me on Instagram and let's work together. The best way to help right now is to donate. The money will go towards the labour behind the directory, the website domain, as well as memberships for better software and increased security.

In the meantime, you can check out and support my work below:
